PRIVACY POLICY

This Policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people who respond to our direct mail communications, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

WHO ARE WE?

Tradition, Family, Property Association—TFP (also known as Tradition, Family, Property – Bureau for the United Kingdom) is a not-for-profit association located in Glasgow, United Kindgom. We are registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office, registration no. Z7555494.

As a ‘data controller’, we are responsible for how we manage this information. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the personal information of every UK or European citizen and sets out our obligations and your rights.

PURPOSE FOR COLLECTING AND USING INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?

We process your information about you in two ways according to the legitimate bases for processing personal data authorised by the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation):

  1. Our Legitimate Interests: This is our primary basis for processing personal data. It enables us to seek funds from those who agree with our cause and to broaden our support base. We do this through direct marketing campaigns about issues we think you and the general public will find of interest. Our methods include: door-to-door leafletting, loose inserts and ads in the Christian press, mailshots, street campaigns, emails, etc.
  2. Your Consent: Another way we process personal data is when you contact us to request our materials, donate to our work, or place orders for items we offer.

 

WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION IS COLLECTED FROM YOU?

We collect your personal information by postal mail, email, over the telephone, face-to-face or via contact forms on the website. This might include your name, address, telephone number, email address, a post or comment. Your details will be saved so that they can be used to process and answer your request. If your comment violates applicable law, we can be prosecuted, which is why we have an interest in the identity of the comment or contribution author.
If you make a credit/debit card donation or purchase, the information you give is processed by third party payment processors specialising in the secure processing of credit/debit card transactions.

INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM OUR WEBSITE

We may collect device identifiers such as internet protocol (IP) addresses and information about the web pages visited, the type of device and software. This is used for statistical and analytical purposes to improve your customer journey and experience. See our full cookie policy.

Our website may also provide links to other websites which have their own privacy policies. We do not accept any responsibility or liability should you access or use these links.

HOW IS YOUR INFORMATION USED?

  • Contacting you with information and updates about campaigns and events by post, email or telephone;

  • Supporter / Member surveys
  • Research and analysis
  • Notify you of any changes

We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION?

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third Party Service Providers working on our behalf (Data Processors): We may pass your information to our third-party service providers for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example to process donations and send you mailings). However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes.

Third Party Product Providers we work in association with (Data Processors): When you make a donation or pay by credit/debit card, these transactions are processed by a third-party payment processor who specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions. If you have any questions regarding secure transactions, please contact us.

We store and process your personal information on systems within the European Economic Area (EEA) with the same level of legal protection, privacy and rights as the UK.

In some circumstances, we use service providers (Data Processors) who hold or transfer your personal information outside the EEA. In countries that do not have the same data protection laws as the United Kingdom and EEA, reciprocal arrangements are in place to demonstrate the same duty of care and confidentiality.

We may transfer your personal information if we’re under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation. Nonetheless we will take steps to ensure your privacy rights continue to be protected.

You have the choice to request your personal data be erased where it is no longer necessary for us to retain such data.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information TFP UK holds about you (we may charge £10 for information requests) to cover our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

When you give us personal information, we take steps to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Only authorised personnel can view your data. And we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
